I also get tired of technologizing everything. The other morning I stepped outside before dawn to get the paper and ran into a wall of sound - birds, insects, etc. I thought later to get an app to help me identify what I heard but then thought, Nah. I am just going to enjoy the wonder of it.

I thought of getting a bird app. But then I realised it would ruin it. Although I do have Platnt Net App partly because I work as a groundsman, so many plants to understand.

Reminds me of the old saying, "Not all who wander are lost." Great story! And you may get to where no man has gone before!

That saying holds true. I'll remember it for the follow up piece where I get lost on paradise.

Quite a lot of places in Tasmania with no phone coverage. Probably the last time I was “where the f am I?” Lost was at Lake Gordon about three years ago. Everything looks so much closer than it is. I found my way back in the end. It was a memorable day.

I could have used such a plant app a few weeks ago when I unwittingly came into contact with poison ivy and soon had a raging, fiery rash over about 60% of my body. But it was not shingles. Or measles. And it did not last forever even though it felt like it.
